We all know those scenes from criminal movies and series, when committed to the case detective is finding the perpetrator at the end of the day, solving the mystery in a very spectacular way. Were you ever wondering how it would be to put yourself in detective’s shoes? Is it as easy as it seems on TV? There are pieces of evidence, there are witnesses and suspects, but how to find out who is the one who caused the whole trouble? Now, you can put yourself in this situation. Sounds fun?
Crime-Trails by MyCityHighlight allow you to solve interesting case happening in your city or in some of the other places that you might be visiting. In this article, I decided to tell you about my own experience from being out on Crime-Trail. I will not go into details, because you should still have fun and lots of curiosity in experiencing this kind of trail yourself.
First of all, you need to go to the Crime-Trails website and purchase your trail. You will receive a validation code on your email, which will be importantat the end of the trail. You will use it to check if the person you convicted was the perpetrator. At this point, you will also be able to download the document with your Crime-Trail. You just need to print it and you are ready to go. Oh, one extra item is necessary to solve this mystery. You need a mobile phone on the way because you will be sending text messages to receive hints, interrogations and more. With Crime-File, mobile phone, eye for detail and validation code you are all set up for success. What’s next? Where to start?
The address of the crime scene will be written in your crime-file and this is the place to visit as the first one. You will have to answer a question connected to this location by sending SMS to a specific number. After this, you receive your first hint. This might be something about the suspects, or something completely not relevant, so stay focused. I need to admit that in the beginning, it was very confusing to me. What actually makes completely sense, because which criminal case is just white and black from the beginning? In the crime file, you will find a map with marked locations in the area close to the crime scene. It is completely up to you to decide in which order you will visit the locations. They are actually numbered, but it does not matter. At every stop, you will have to send SMS. What comes next is: you receive text message that will bring you closer to connect all the dots. At some point, you will be able to assign evidence visible in the crime-file to the suspects. You will be able to notice which of the suspects have the motive and alibi, or for whom things are not looking very bright. By visiting every location you will get a step closer to solving the case. Stay focused and ignore information that is not relevant to you. In the same time keep an eye for details, maybe there is something relevant around one of the locations on your way that might help you to solve the case.
I know, it sounds like a lot is happening, but well…it’s true. At some point, you will get into the mode ‘I need to solve the case’ just like I did, rushing from one point on the map to the other, connecting the dots. At the end of the Crime-Trail, it might be a good idea to sit down, I would recommend that you just stop at one of the cafes nearby, order yourself a coffee and take a step back. Just think once again about all shreds of evidence, suspects and hints that you received by SMS. At this point, you probably also made a lot of notes in your crime-file. Once you analyze them again, you will probably know who is the perpetrator. To find out if you are right, you need to go back to your validation code and type it in the respective field on the Crime-Trail website. The address is visible in the Crime-Trail file. Once you do that, you will get the answer and deep explanation of how this suspect was the guilty one.
Trust me, it’s fun! It might sound confusing, and it is… especially at the beginning, but later on, you will enjoy it a lot. I felt like Lieutenant Columbo and believe me or not, the proud after solving the case successfully is huge. Crime-Trail will give you about 2 hours of fun and who knows, you might explore areas of the city that you would never stop by when using a regular city guide. Imagine yourself walking with magnifying glass judging evidence located not far from you.
This Crime-Trail is for teenagers and adults, but we are not forgetting about the youngest. We have developed Crime-Trail for kids too! What are the differences? At this time, you just need to trust me when I say that we thought it over pretty well and it is suitable for kids. You will read more about it in a separate article.
Almost forgot! You know what I like the most about Crime-Trails? That this is just a pure fun out in fresh air. I personally do not like to be locked in a breakout room. This is way more fun!
