Twice a year, MyCityHighlight people meet, somewhere in Europe. Recently, we have met in Zurich for the Country Manager Conference, great catch up, talk about the past, the future and the present of course. This is this moment of the year when you have a chance to meet everyone face to face, get inspired, talk about everything that you didn’t have time to discuss via emails or Skype and help each other with some difficulties that occur from time to time.
When for 1,5 days in Zurich… we spent half of the first day in the hotel meeting room, not the kind of activity we like the most, but it’s something you need to do, talk, discuss, update and plan the bright future of MyCityHighlight. We need to talk about statistics, targets, feedback, new releases and basically everything that matters. Yeah, you would say boring, but during this kind of meeting, we also have a chance to test new products, which is probably the most enjoyable part of our job. Zurich was no different, and we, divided into two groups, went out in the fresh air on a sunny Swiss day to experience Finding-Daniel for the first time ever!
And…it was so much fun. Apparently, we were a group of very competitive people, so of course, we created (mostly in our heads) competition between one group and the other. We have learned about Zurich and those were quite exciting facts! And I need to say that after this Finding-Daniel experience, I was able to find myself around the Zurich Old City Center without any problems. I don’t want to tell you more about this new product because as soon as it is launched completely I’ll throw an article here about it. After experiencing Finding-Daniel we were able to sit together and give feedback about it. It’s just the best when you have a couple of smart heads, not only 1 or 2, but everyone is bringing something to the table. We know that this way we can go from good to great and develop in the right way. After dinner together the day was not over. We went to the adventure room! Have you ever tried that before? Some of us did, for some of us, this was their first time. Here again, we needed to be divided into two groups and each of the groups had two rounds. First one, starting from the beginning into half of the escape room, or starting in the halfway into complete freedom. After the first round we swapped, so each group was able to experience full route. We had so much fun! But what is the most important, we got inspired and ideas for new riddles for the Detective-Trail, tricky questions for the Crime-Trail and more are growing in our heads. Such a great time we had together. Our work is fun, isn’t it?
After a good night of sleep, we all met early morning on the second day of our meeting to start the day with some serious brainstorming about our next product. We came up with a couple of brilliant ideas and at the end of this session we narrowed them down into three ways to go with the new product that MyCityHighlight will be able to offer in the future.
On our agenda, there was also a time to look at the blog (yes, the one you are reading now) come up with articles topic ideas and work a little bit on the editorial plan. Later on, we updated each other on the process for sponsoring partners for Crime-Trails and Detective-Trails. In case you did not know, you have an opportunity to become a sponsoring partner of those products and get a lot of visibility, but also the chance to earn money. Contact us under: email@example.com and get to know more about it.
At the end of our 1,5-day meeting, there is time for schooling sessions, individual talks, updating on different security/passwords situation and decisions about the next scheduled meeting. This is usually the last point on the agenda for MyCityHighlight Conference. Who has the time to explore a bit more of the city is usually doing that, but most of us usually need to rush to the airport/station and travel home.
And if you’re thinking such a cool job these people have, you are completely right. Stay tuned, soon you will be able to read about one of the cities that our products are available in, but if you missing some reading check out our other articles, such as the one about Berne – the city that got it all, or about Crime-Trails, our newest product available in many places already.
